Perhaps you picture a forest backdrop, a secluded beach, a waterfall, the bush, or a lush garden for your ceremony and photos. This option is budget-friendly (just a small permit fee in most public places) and our team is always up for an adventure. Just be sure to have a backup plan for weather if you go this route.

A Catered Venue
Prefer to book a venue and let someone else handle the details? You may like to choose a wedding venue with micro-wedding packages, a restaurant, winery, cafe, bar or hotel. It means you can simply turn up on the day knowing everything’s taken care of. It’s a great option if you’d love your ceremony and portraits somewhere private, then want to settle in for a long lunch or dinner with (or without) your guests afterwards. Best of all, you won’t need to apply for a council permit.

A Private Property
Love the idea of an outdoor ceremony in a garden or bush setting, or with the sound of rolling waves nearby, but want privacy? Book an Airbnb or DIY venue for the best of both: your own elopement and a mini-moon in one!
If you love your own home, your backyard could be the spot. It’s always a favourite with our team and makes for some of the most meaningful memories in your love story.

Perhaps you want to get married in the Geelong Botanical Gardens, but then want to go to the pub in town for drinks. Or get married in the Redwoods and then head back to your Airbnb for a catered private dinner with your guests.
Or do you picture your ceremony on a beach before a long delicious lunch at a restaurant overlooking the ocean? You can always keep your elopement ceremony to a small guest list in say, a garden, park or your own home, and a larger group of guests can meet you somewhere afterwards for lunch, dinner or a rocking party!
